I have seen the prayer flags etc. and they are great! And then I got to thinking, wouldn't it be awesome to do a prayer/scripture quilt block swap and eventually have a quilt (mini or not) full of wonderful scriptures and words of inspiration to wrap up in? (or hang on the wall)
We could have the blocks maybe a 12x12 in size and it can be swapping with one partner or two even so we have more to piece together? I figure with a couple of rounds of this we would have an amazing mini quilt at least with that size square.
I am totally out of practice in organizing, but would anyone else out there be interested in this?

I'd be in for this! Sweet idea!!

and even if there wouldn't be enough interested to do a swap on it, if there are interested folks, we could do a private swap between those interested?

True.. I see its had several hits as far as being read, just not many replies.
But ya know, as far as I can recall, I don't think there is a certain amount of participants required to HAVE a swap (or am I remembering this incorrectly?). Sooo even if there are only a few of us, I don't see why we cant still do it and it not have to be private even?
Hopefully more will be interested.....*crossing fingers  Roll Eyes

Yay! We got another bite!  Cheesy
I don't have any time frame in mind as of yet. I am still waiting to see if there are more to post as interested.
It may end up being a rather small one,  but that would be okay too!

If its a small swap, I don't see why not as long as everyone is in agreement with that. ANd so far, it appears that its a small swap.

Well gals, I am a bit surprised to see it might be just us three unless someone else is out there and just hasn't been looking.
I don't know if there are any requirements on the minimum amount of swappers, do y'all?
Either way, I think it will be fun and hey, if it is us three, lol I think it would be easy to make two squares each, don't you?
I wont be able to host it for a bit though as I am trying to send off on the OWS and close out this month's goodies, and finish off the pendant swap which I am slow go at, at the moment.
So, if either of you want to host, go ahead and open it up (I will join!) so the fun can begin Smiley

Here is kind of what I was thinking questions wise:

(omitting the norm of name, address, allergies, etc as this is just question ideas)

Quilt squares do not need to be backed, unless you and your partner specify & agree. (if they want it to be wall hanging ready (backed), or if they want it to be part of a set to eventually be a small/large quilt (not backed)  as we hope this swap will have several repeats! Also, PLEASE stitch your initials on the piece you make for your partner. It makes it all the more special and helps those remember later on.

Favorite scriptures or prayers for your partner to be inspired by: (please list at least 5)

What size of square would you like to receive? (4x4, 12x12)

Favorite colors?

Colors you dislike?

favorite quilt square patterns? (understand your partner may or may not use one or any of these)

Do you want it all fabric, washable, or are bits and bobbles Okay to use on your square?

Are there any certain things HE created that inspire you or that you are in awe of more than others? (birds, rainbows, flowers, etc)

Would you want a holiday themed square?

IF yes, which holiday? (Christmas, Lent, Easter, etc.)

CAN y'all think of anything else question wise that needs adding?
