Ha! love the clubhouse card. Perfect. And the manga cards are beautiful. I have a book on how to draw Manga characters...but mine do not turn out like these. Wonderful.

Two cards to share today.  The first arrived last week from blupaisan (sorry for the delay in posting!):

I watched a ton of Nick-at-Nite as a kid (you know, back when "classic TV" meant B&W shows from the 50's, not stuff from THE 90'S!![/rant]), and "I Love Lucy" was my absolute favorite.  This awesome card features an image and quote from Season One episode "The Kleptomaniac", when Ricky finds Lucy's secret hoard of donated items for a club bazaar and thinks she must be stealing.  Near the the end of the episode, Lucy and Ethel dress up as criminals to mess with Ricky and Fred.  The quote on the card reads: "I got the eye in the foot and the foot in the eye."  (And if you're curious about the episode: http://www.hulu.com/watch/438058  Wink)

The second card is from My_RubySlippers, for my Disney Gender Swap theme:

Merida from "Brave"!  (M_RS said she had kilts on the brain, from waiting for the "Outlander" premiere.

Thanks for the fab cards, ladies!

I received this lovely ATC from CDEeeek on my theme "dark moments in traditional fairy tales." In the Grimm version of the Cinderella story, her sisters cut off their toes and heels to try to fit into the magic gold shoe.

    The poem reads:
    Rook-di-goo!
    There's blood in the shoe!
    The shoe is too tight.
    This bride is not right!

Not sure why my pics are sideways...

Here is a picture where you can see that the shoe is actually metallic gold:

This is just the kind of fairy tale moment I was looking for. Smiley Thanks CDEeeek!

I always thought that was a very gruesome detail in the old Grimm tale. How badly those girls wanted to marry the prince! Hmmm is it any different today with plastic surgery? Certainly less painful I should hope.

And was the prince such a great prize anyway???

Love the card!!! Love those fairy tale moments.

I love the original Grimm stories - so different from the Disney-fied versions!

Here are the last two cards I received in June - Love them both!

A Tree Squeek from blupaisan - I got my own wooden card Smiley

Real bark and real whiskers make this a ooak card. Thanks , blu!

Second card is fantastic. It's completely flat, but has so many layers to it:

It's from Senator Organa for my "mysterious women" theme. She said it's not really what she wanted to make so she might just have to claim me a second time for it. I'd be more than happy about that! Smiley

Thanks for a lovely month, everybody!

I received a phenomenal card from cmarion3 today for my "Planets" theme:

She chose the fictional planet of Darkover, the titular home world of the series created by Marion Zimmer Bradley  (which, side note, made me uber-excited to get this card.  While I'm not familiar with any of the Darkover novels/stories, Mists of Avalon is one of my all time favorite books, and I made it through most of that series).

The coloring is absolutely wonderful, and the 3-D elements are great too.  The large red entity is actually the star of this solar system; the planet Darkover is the clear marble, and the four colored pebbles/beads are the planet's four moons.  (And OOOHHH!!! Now that I'm reading about Darkover on Wikipedia, I'm looking at a map and I see that you painted underneath the marble to match the topography of the planet.  SOOO COOL!  That's what I love about this card, every time I look at it, I find something new.  Wink)

This is definitely one of my favorite ATCs I've received, thank you so much, cmarion3!

I've been a fan of Marion Zimmer Bradley for most of my life. Love the Free Amazons of Darkover. Read every one, have the tattered re-read paperbacks stashed away somewhere. Glad you love the card and maybe you will find a new series to read. They vary in quality quite a bit and her early ones really show you how she progressed as a writer.

So glad you love the card, the picture really does it justice.

check out this incredibly beautiful 3D card that cmarion3 made for my turquoise theme!
i truly love this! I can't wait to learn how the flowers were made. Their paper is quite sturdy, so I cannot imagine how she got them to bend the way she did.
One tiny bead missing from the center... I found it on the floor of my car and will glue back on today. She went to GREAT lengths to pack this thing well.
Love the wee key, the music, the ribbon, the cogs, and especially the blue cheery flower.
thanks soooo much cmarion3. Gonna hang this baby on my wall!
