Yay, glad you got it safe! Yep, they are Copics, I love them. Still learning how to use them to their full advantage but practice makes perfect. Hope you all don't mind me practicing on you Smiley

You go right ahead and practice on me!

How many did you buy at first, if you don't mind me asking?  I never go to art supply stores, just the big box craft stores, and they sell themed sets of 6 ("primary colors", "pastels", "bolds", "jewel tones", etc.) for $30.  I would really like to get a single set of 6 to play around with, but I need to figure out if a) 6 is enough to do anything with, and b) which set to get.

Originally I only bought six, three pink shades and three purple shades, coz I'd been watching lots of tutorials on shading. It was great playing with them doing different techniques, but two colours essentially got boring. I ended up getting about 10-12 more including basic skin tones and brunette then it became a bit more fun. Then I just saved up my money and every now and then bought ten more plus copic special fine liners and white gel pens and now I have a neat little collection. I find I'm always missing a specific colour but usually have to compromise with the pens I've got. Craft is my only obsession, and it's stress relief from work, so I justify spending my hard earned cash on pens!

ETA - I see you like doing figures, did the store sell a skin tones set? There are quite a few online tutorials on how to use the skin tone colours, then you could see if you like the pens?

I received a cute Matroschka card from vincentvanbuck for my Ghibli theme:

First it's Kaonashi, opening up to the cutest Calcifer I ever saw. Under him there's a mini totoro, and at last a mini soot spirit Smiley

I love it, thanks a million! Smiley

And concerning copics... 6 isn't really enough to start with unless it's just for practice. I would recommend getting a few shades like Amaranth did... or getting a bigger set right away. OR. Get cheaper ones to practice with.. and if you like 'em - go for copics to fill out the collection.  I started out with cheap ones and a few copics for the lighter shades, and then went for the copic 36 marker 25 anniversary edition set. It's a good start - and great since it gives you markers with pen and brush tips. Great for cards where the broad tips don't really get used often.

Kosmicgirl sent a beautiful flying fish for my flying creatures theme. This has been a fun theme...we seem to love flying creatures!

The background is rich purples and blues with teeny little jewel bubbles mixed in with the painted bubbles. The wings are gold and puffy and very elegant. Love the card.

Two lovelies waiting when I got home today!

A LEGO ice cream from cmarion3 (0 fat, 0 calories!) That looks delicious;  I love it! May have to narrow my theme to lego food...hmm...

And a classic star wars card - my second chewbacca! From kosmicgirl.  He's great! Love the sparkles, layers, and his adorable expression.

Yaaay!

I've been spoilt this week!

This is a beautiful little steam punk castle ATC canvas from My_Rubyslippers! It's detail is wonderful. I have to find a special place to put this one...

The following are from cmarion3 for my daughter's alphabet theme. She loves them, they are gorgeous!

AND... She sent us some extras! Which my daughter is going to kindly share with me Smiley
