I have some more photos of the spool I made. Thanks for all the interest. This spool was difficult to photograph but thankfully I've just made a light tent. Maria said that she and her daughter love fairies, so I decided to make a fairy villa.

Here's a shot of the front:

I have a dollhouse/minaiture store a block away from me. That's where I got the house. Then I added a super mini spool to the top of the bell tower to give the house a fairy feel. Covered the roofs with fancy ribbon fluff, and added some foliage and there you go.

Here's a picture of the super mini spool next to a regular sized spool:

Eek! I just love tiny replicas of inanitmate objects Cheesy

And here's a side pick. You can see the spool peeking out of the bell tower:

So happy you liked it mariak!

In record time from Ireland to San Francisco, I received my piece from edelc - a creepy cute shrine to childhood:

So many fun details and items to look at:

There is silk fabric in the frame, lace, fringe, eyelash yarn (?), bones and more.

Here is a close up of the arm and face - see the buttons? See the creepy little hands on her forehead?

And there is a small key on top.

I have one teeny tiny complaint, Miss C, and that is you didn't sign your work. So the next time we trade something (inchies, altered puzzle pieces, fabric), you must send me your autograph so I can attach it to the shrine.

Other than that, it is a perfect mix of creepy and cute and just fun, cool stuff.  Thanks a bunch!

very creepy, but in a good way...love the details...the buttons...the blackened lips...

I agree that people need to sign their stuff!  If you become famous, I need to be able to sell your art and make lots of money! Grin

Thanks for more photos of the cottage!

edelC, what a delightfully creepy childhood you portrayed! I really love the hands covering the eyes, and the use of other bones. Nice!
