Still have a few more days of sign ups. We're already at five, which is what we had last time. It looks like we may have more this time around! That would be awesome.

I love going through everyone's questionnaires. I've noticed something- very rarely does someone like BOTH Rushmore AND Life Aquatic. Those that like Life Aquatic like that one and Mr. Fox, and list Rushmore at the bottom of their list. Rushmore folks like that one and Tenenbaums, and list Life Aquatic at the bottom. So far, everyone that's seen Moonrise Kingdom has liked it.

Funny, no?  Wink

I just sent in my questionnaire!

Interesting observation P3. As movies I liked both Life Aquatic and Rushmore. I used to really love Rushmore, but then I dated a guy in high school who told me in a letter that I was his Rushmore... Gosh, this happen eleven summer ago! You would think I could separate the two! Mostly I just shutter because I treated him really poorly Embarrassed

I think Rushmore reflects Anderson's youth and immaturity in more than just Max's characterization.

Im in the Aquadic/Fox camp. I saw Rushmore and Tanenbaums before I met my hubby (how is also a huge Anderson fan) and I didn't get it. His stepmother houesold was weird, awkward, and slightly dysfunctional. He said he likes the Royal Tanabaumms because it reminded him of holidays at his dads house. That made it make more sense to me.

Personally Im into the more visual ones. You could watch The Life Aquatic and The Fantastic Mr Fox with the sound off and they rare still amazing movies.

The grand Budapest might be my new favorite though.

Oh dear. I would absolutely love to be part of this swap! -Just- saw it and I have been meaning to join a swap for while and just today I got time for it. I hope I can make the questionnaire in time.

I'm not home atm (only on my phone now) so I can't write it up before I'm home later. Yay for time difference (for once) Tongue

Very excited for partners! I got to thinking about what people were saying about Rushmore/Life Aquatic and I did something that a few day before I would be opposed to. I re-watched Rushmore. That movie has some great lines in it! It was very different watching it as an adult vs being a teenager.
One small criticism I have about the more recent WA films is that there are so many characters, and not enough time to develop them, that they seem flat. In Rushmore so much of the movie is spent with Max that he becomes very endearing (unless of course you don't like the film, and then he just become irritating  Wink).

Ok I'll stop rambling...but one more thing! There is an independent movie theatre down the street from me. It is so cute. It's owned and operated by the same family for the last fifty years and it's like stepping back in time when you go there. Anyway, Grand Budapest Hotel is playing there! What a perfect venue to see the movie! I'm going to see the movie again on Sunday.
