sheepBlue, are you using a good quality wool felt, or craft felt?  Wool felt holds up much better.

I have a mixture of both in my stash. I just grabbed what colors I wanted to use. If I did it again I'd make sure it was the better quality stuff. Though truly in retrospect, the fish was probably an inch or less, so I should have omitted the felt completely and just stitched the darned thing!  Smiley Lesson learned.

Almost all of my things are stitched over a base of wool felt.  For instance the body of the cicada is padded with a piece of felt.  I've not gone as tiny as that fish sounds, though....

So. much. awesome! Especially dig the monarch (lol...totally feels like an unintentional Venture Bros ref).

I started stitching another square and using the lazy daisy stitch! Hope to finish it tonight....

And here it is!

It's a meditating Buddha surrounded by some lazy daisy flowers. Hope this one is more recognizable than my first galaxy attempt was!

Love the Buddha square - even before I read what it was, I thought Buddha, so definitely recognisable.
