Lovely! The different shades of green in the body really give it depth and I love the wings.

Love the dragon, round tree branch, butterflies, and the bug! All gorgeous!

I managed another square today. For my love of musicals! Have only really seen movie versions but would love to see one live in a theatre one day.

Thanks everyone Smiley  For the curious, the dragon is effectively half-cross-stitch worked as if every intersection of base fabric threads was a block.  My fabric's quite open-weave which makes it possible.
It does bind quite tightly to the backing, as if it were part of the fabric itself.

sheepBlue, your work is amazing Cheesy
I love your butterflies.  Is it stumpwork?  I really have to give that a try sometime soon!

Ludi, that's a lovely cicada; all the shades of green look great Smiley

Musical square is also great, Amaranth, really reminds me of the atmosphere of a real theatre Smiley

amaranth - Love the theater square! I've only ever been to 4 musicals, but it is a truly unique experience that is awesome! If you can do it some day, I'd highly encourage it. I saw Rent, Wicked, Jesus Christ Superstar and Hairspray and would lovelovelove to see more.

Thanks lilletia! Yes it is stumpwork. In fact here's one more! My swap partner received yesterday so it's safe to post now  Smiley

This one was left unmounted (I popped it in a hoop for the sake of taking a picture so the fabric would be taut and show the butterfly correctly. Of course, as everyone may have surmised, it is a classic Monarch butterfly.  Smiley

Oh Amaranth, I love all your teeny-tiny detail. I wish we could see a macro shot of your work. I want to get that close! Wink

And Sheepblue... wow! I love the Monarch.

And Ludi, that really is a superb green cicada. Wink

Thanks!

I agree, we want to see those tiny squares more closely, Amaranth!

sheepBlue, are you using a good quality wool felt, or craft felt?  Wool felt holds up much better.
