Thanks, stillatthetop! I don't know why I couldn't think of that name Smiley  I spent the morning doing laundry, and then worked on dishes. I ran out of dish detergent, but had the supplies on hand to make some (washing soda and borax), which was good, because I was "in the zone" and didn't want to run to the store Cheesy I still had a bunch of stuff that needed hand washing (plus, once the laundry was done, I did some cooking). I made a micro-dent in the chaos, but at least it was a start!

I'm in good company with the other awesome Nerds of the Week Grin I'm really proud of little Pyramid Head because he was such a pain but he was definitely worth it! I showed my friend the pics and she was amazed by his cuteness, saying she just knows her son will love having his own Pyramid Head.
I said it before but I must say it again: I am smitten with pishaw13's bobble stitch jumper <3
I can't wrap my head around HOW I missed cryssoleil's amazing little dragon Huh

calliemae, that afghan is pretty and VERY pink indeed. I especially love the striped squares <3

Prompt:  June - Team Spirit: Textbook (Knowledge is Power)
Team: Randomizer
Event: Paperology
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Skull collage cards
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description: I am kind of digging these little (about 2x3") collage cards lately. These contains bits of a painting project of mine, cheesecloth, card catalog cards, magazine images from the late 90's and thread. These three feature the human skull. An interesting fact about the human skull; "Trepanation, or removing a piece of the skull, was practiced in ancient and even prehistoric times. The reason is not known, but it may have been a tribal ritual or rudimentary treatment for brain disorders." Taken from http://www.ehow.com/facts_5591777_human-skull-kids.html

Awesome cards Candice! Are you using your machine to sew on them?

Thanks!

I am using my machine. For some kinds of paper I had to put a piece of felt underneath to help them move through the machine.

artsycandice - I love both your prints and the sweet story to go with them!  That's such a nice way to immortalize those memories.  And I continue to love your mixed media cards.  It's really a classy style!

mama24boyz - Cute slime!!  I need to get a bit bolder about making bigger things with felt; I'm usually too timid and stick to mostly flat stuff, but your 3D guy looks great!

Cryssoleil - I can't decide if I like that cross-stitch or its frame better!  So pretty, and such a good match!  And your surly little Sherlock is positively adorable.  And omg, that Jayne!!  I love that so many of us in here seem to like a lot of the same shows!

craftADDchick - Good luck on your kitchen overhaul!!  It sounds like a big project!

calliemae - I also love the patchwork effect you got with your afghan!  It looks cozy, too!  And I cannot WAIT to see your Gotham City; that sounds so cute and fun to design!!

Congrats to all the Nerds of the Week!  You all made awesome stuff!!

Prompt:  June - The best things in life.
Team: Multimedia
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Anniversary Birds
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description:
I was really happy with how my long-legged bird turned out, so I made another pair as part of my present for my parents' 40th anniversary today!  As for the free part, my aunt recently gave me a gift of a couple of antique poetry books.  Their bindings are fragile, so she packed them carefully - not in packing peanuts or newspaper, but in polyfil!  Some of that polyfil is now inside these two little lovebirds.

Prompt:  June - Flash Mob - The Doctor (10th)
Team: Multimedia
Event: Fabricology
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Ten
Project Link: N/A
Brief Description:
This project is ALMOST finished, so I hope it's close enough to squeeze in for the June Flash Mob!  I don't own a sewing machine, and can't borrow one until next week, so I can't sew the front and back of this pillow together yet, but the whole front design is hand-sewn and finished!  I pinned it on a pillow just to approximate the finished look.  The Doctor, especially David Tennant's version, is one of my absolute favorite fictional male characters, so here is my attempt to make a pillow out of him!
