I do not wear gold tone jewelry.  Haven't in more years than I can remember.  I have a lot of jewelry and the closest I get to gold is some bronze things and even those are few and far between.  Imagine my surprise when on Christmas morning the gift my daughter got me with her own money was a little gold pendant.  She was so proud of this gift.  Of course I loved the thought behind it and have worn it a few times but I never had any earrings or a bracelet to wear with it.  I decided I needed something so I bought some gold tone supplies and went for it.  Here is what I came up with.

Bracelet using beads and jump rings threaded onto memory wire.

These awesome stones just happened to be on clearance so I snagged them to make my earrings.

I have come to realize that maybe I am not alone in the gold vs silver thing because there were literally NO gold tone charms to be found.  Tons of silver and nickel but not much gold.

Isn't it awesome when your kids do that?  I still have these huge dangly earrings that my oldest bought me when he was really little.  I didn't wear them much coz for some reason the posts made my ears hurt.  Then a few years ago, I hit on the idea of bending the posts into rings to attach hooks to. I wear them fairly regularly now, and I get the warm fuzzies every time.

I'm not a huge gold fan either, but I find myself wearing it more frequently lately.  I would definitely wear this stuff! I love your jewelry.  So warm!  Great job!

Thank you!  I have some leftover jump rings and quite a few ear wires left so I suppose I will have to make some other stuff.

I actually got a second gold necklace from a friend for my birthday that I forgot about...

Ditto on not being a huge gold fan. I will say, however, that I have recently made a few pieces since I have a ton of gold chain, and it really works coordinating with complimentary colored wardrobe. Great job on the new pieces!

I agree that gold does go much better than silver with warm colors.  I am proud that today while sporting my new gold stuff I am also wearing a gray and yellow (not a fan of yellow) shirt!  I am going WAY outside my box today!  In fact I think I climbed right out of it and then stomped on it a bit LOL!

Pretty! I have started wearing more gold lately. I love the way it looks with a tan. Those earrings are beautiful.

I am wearing the necklace and earring set you made me today. I just love it.

Well I have more gold ear wires so maybe I will catch in the OWS and send you some gold tone things!  Glad to hear your necklace is holding up... I am always so nervous that kind is going to break...
