Thanks to the wonders of Youtube I have developed a major craft crush on Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Company,I've spent ages just watching & listening but never thought I'd actually do any quilting then one day I decided what the hell, give it a whirl Kookie and if you can't do it then no one else has to know  Cheesy So a whirl I gave it and ended up with this tablerunner which I gave to my older sister.

The reason it is a Christmassy one in May is because the only coordinating fabrics I had were seasonal ones & I didn't want to make it too scrappy & mismatched. It has been quilted and bound now but I can't find a pic  Roll Eyes
I thoroughly enjoyed making it and when my friend Ann saw it she said she had a quilting mag I could have which turned out to be Quilting Quickly with Jenny Doan.
The pattern I followed was Hard Candy which is another table topper from the Summer 2013 magazine but mine will hang on the wall instead of sitting on a table. I call it You Are My Sunshine.

It makes me smile every time I see it  Smiley I finally got to use my walking foot and one of the fancy stitches on my sewing machine and made my first bias binding too.

These are wonderful!

The Christmassy table runner is brilliant.  Is that a faint pattern I see on the white strips?
You've just reminded me that I have fabric that I should've made into a table runner for Christmas last year.  I'm feeling quite inspired by yours Smiley

You Are My Sunshine is so good, too; it just radiates happy sunny days.  It makes me feel summer is here already, even though it's raining outside my window.
