Don't really have anything to say here (yet). However! Feel free to discuss and brainstorm.  Smiley

I posted a discussion about this one time in the New Themes Ideas and didn't get a single hit. I love it! Can you post a link to the bio thread in that first post?
How long is this swap going for? Usually the Ongoing style swaps go for a month and then get rolled over. I have quite a few UFOs I would like to put up for this swap, both to be sent back or for the claimer to keep, but I don't think I can list them until I finish making some dresses for my girls that have to be done by June 1st. Eep! I better get going.

Hi there jexxican!

Currently, the thread for the swap is in Limbo, so I'm trying to sort that out. I was planning on having signups for two weeks (May 10-May 24), but maybe that's not enough time. Maybe if I change signups to end at the end of the month, they'll take the swap out of Limbo.

I'm not sure about the bio thread that you are speaking of. Maybe I'm misinterpreting your question. Could you please be more specific?

I don't see this as being in Limbo. Both this and the other thread are in the Craft Swap and Gallery boards, where they are supposed to be.

By "bio thread" I meant the sign up thread. Only 2 weeks for sign ups? When I read the  original post I thought it was to be more like the Pinterest swap where you can sign up all month long and claim as you please. And then at the end of the "month" (or otherwise determined time frame), everyone is done claiming and you start a new one where other people can join/people can update their lists.

I just got out of Limbo today. Must have been before you came to look at the thread. Take another look at it just to be safe. I had to make some changes before I was allowed to continue as organizer.

I made it chain style instead of a free for all since, per moderator, it needs to work out that everyone who picks a UFO to finish needs to somehow be picked as well, so that each person that participates ends up both sending and receiving a UFO. I've only organized one swap other than this one and felt that chain style was the safer way to go. And I have made the signup time longer. May 30 will be the last day to sign up.

The chain style sounds good. I'm sad to see people not queuing up for the swap, because I think it's an awesome idea! I'm not entirely confident I could finish somone else's UFO in time as I'm super slow crafting these days, but hm, seeing what others have that needs something done might help with getting an idea of what is required in the first place.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Ruby Copperhead. I thought I had a good swap going on too. I don't know what I should do to make this swap more appealing. Do you think I need to lengthen the crafting time? I have one swapper signed up and approved to post in the swap thread. I would hate to have to close the swap down early. Cry All reasonable suggestions to make this swap better will be taken under consideration. Hit me up fellow Craftsters!

I saw this swap a bit ago but have been distracted by my current swaps.  Wouldn't mind finishing up someone else's project but maybe pictures posting and more descriptions of what level they are at? I have a several UFOs at different stages.... from a crochet bear needing legs made for it, a polymer santa with just a face and front drape to a dog coat that needs edging and snaps and a purse that just needs topstitching.  But in saying all that, I have to finish up my two swaps before I get sucked into something else.  maybe extend this into June?

With so little response, I figured that everyone was just too busy for this kind of swap. I also think that me making this swap US only was a bit of a turn off. I like your idea of posting pictures of the different in progress projects one would have available for swapping, so that is something I'll keep in mind.

I also thought of having two separate UFO swaps--a "return" swap, where the swappers send and get back their UFO project, and a "keep" swap where UFO would not be returned. If I organize, I would be more comfortable having international swappers for the "keep" swap.

For now however, I'm just going to close the swap early and wait a few months. Thank you for your suggestions. Smiley
