Hi all,

I'm hoping someone may have an idea as to why a certain issue is happening with my spouse and some of my homemade cold processed soaps. My recipe is usually the same for every batch.. 1/3 olive oil, 1/3 soybean oil, and 1/3 coconut oil...then using whatever essential or fragrance oils to scent it with. Well, he used an awapuhi ginger one once and it made him smell like corn chips. That's really the only way I can describe the smell..like corn chips or maybe stinky feet lol. The soap does not do this to me, nor my friends and family members who use it. Okay now, as if that weren't weird enough.. he really loves my raw honey and oatmeal soap. There's no added fragrance in that, it just has a sort of Bit-O-honey candy smell naturally from the soap process. He used it once before and did not have a weird scent-related reaction. I made another batch exactly as the last and for some reason this batch made him smell like corn chips. What in THE WORLD is going on with this man's skin & some of my soap? And yes, it's fully saponified and cured before we ever use it, and yes, it's PH tested and the results are normal. I am so confused  Huh

Well that's weird. Some people skin's just have weird reactions, that's why perfume smells differently on some people. I can't use Ralph by Ralph Lauren, it smells lovely in the bottle but smells like bug spray on me Sad

Maybe he's eating something new if he didn't have this reaction before? Very odd!

I was going to ask if something has changed in his diet such as eating a lot of garlic or onion? Or is he taking any new supplements... garlic or fish oil or anything like that?
