I made this Harry Potter Version of Candyland for the IYP 25 swap.  My partner and I both love Harry Potter so I decided to turn Candyland into "Potterland--Deathly Hallows Edition".  My daughter is an amazing artist (I can't draw) so I commissioned her to draw the game out for me and I would color it (she hates coloring things in).

The game follows along the events from the Deathly Hallows book starting with leaving #4 Privet drive on broomstick all the way to Harry's battle with Voldemort.  My daughter like to be funny in her art so she drew in cute/funny details throughout the game (like the look on Ron and Hermoine's face when Harry is wearing the Diadem)  I used watercolors, my first time, and I loved how it turned out.

I made the cards using a square stamp made from an eraser for the plain square cards and an "H" shield stamp made for me in another swap for the card backs.

The playing pieces are laminated drawings with a binder clip to make them stand up
Here is Hermoine:

I decorated the outside of the box to look like a package from the owl post:

It was hard to send this game away!  I told my daughter she should make me one for my birthday!

I love all the details your daughter drew and the funny or cute things she addes. An artist!

Love your twist on one of my favorite childhood games and adding a Potter theme. I know your partner must have been surpraise and happy.
