I was so happy when I saw this challenge! Cheesy I love Pinterest so much but I spend hours pinning things and hardly ever make anything from the pins that inspire me Tongue
But that changed when I found myself wanting a Daryl figure.
I can't find one locally because the only place that carries them is GameStop and the employees have confessed that they never let the Daryl figures hit the shelves, taking them all for themselves.  Angry
And the ones I find online are out of my price range. So I decided that I would just make my own using a Monster High Deuce Gorgon Grin
This doll started his life as a "Scaris" Deuce Gorgon.
I removed his "snake-hawk" and molded hair, his face-up, and the tattooing on his left arm.
His hair is made from a long pile faux fur, his shirt is a poly-cotton remnant, and his jeans are a denim remnant. His vest started its life as a Liv doll's leather jacket and the wings on the back are made of iron on fabric and were hand-drawn then outlined in Sharpie. His clothes are all hand-sewn and the worn look on his jeans was achieved by rubbing them down with coarse sandpaper.
His crossbow is made of a wooden dowel, plastic canvas covered with yarn, hemp cord, a piece of bamboo skewer, and a bit of cardboard; the wooden and cardboard bits are painted with black acrylic paint. His bolts are made from slivers of plastic canvas and little bits of felt.
His face was painted using watercolors then sealed. His eyes came out bigger than I wanted them to but I didn't have a small enough brush and my hands aren't all that steady. In other words, I need to practice painting doll faces more. Embarrassed
His motorcycle was a gift from my sister. It's from the Bratz Boyz "Motorcycle Style" Cade doll. I simply repainted it so that it would look like Daryl's motorcycle. The crossbow is just propped on the motorcycle because I couldn't get the wire to look neat.
My Pinspirations

Edit: forget the shine in his eyes! Added a pic with the changes. He's sitting next to Deuce for reference.

Edit2: Daryl is getting a repaint. Here's the progress so far:

Glad you guys approve Grin
His brother, Merle, is next on my list of mods. I'm going to practice painting eyes before I do that. And I'm thinking of making another Daryl to ship to Reedus since he really likes receiving toys of himself from fans.

Wow! I did not think a monster high boy doll would look that good for Daryl but it looks AMAZING!  I love monster high but I think the guys need thinner eyes/more masculine features so I was surprised he looks so great! Monster high is a good doll for customs because of all the movements they can make! awesome that he gets his motorcycle. I am so jealous! Very good custom!

Thanks! Deuce's face is just the right shape for Daryl with his high cheekbones. I agree that the boy dolls' features are somewhat girlish.
