Been back on UK soil for an hour and have just sat down with a cup of tea - tea never tastes the same anywhere else!!
Before I delve into my box, here is what I sent to Mariak. (I apologise for the long post in advance!
One of Mariak's favourite characters is Luna and when I was doing my research, I came across her list of lost items - image http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101022093604/harrypotter/images/f/f8/LunaLOST.jpg
and an idea crept in, so, first the box:
The bottom box has a drawer that pulls out and the top box opens up - the two books have the names of the books on the lost list. (The labels don't show up as clearly in real life, but the flash picks them up!
There is also the bottle of ink (also on Luna's list) attached to the bottom book, to the right of the top book.
As Luna had only lost one of her beetlewing earrings, we (yes, I am referring to myself and Luna - I know you will all just play along) made the other one into a bracelet:
Some of the items on her list were never returned, so we decided upon a charm keyring with items to represent those lost:
There is some knotted shoelace (school shoes), a button (school cloak) and a polka dot bow (bubble bow booster). It looked a little sparse, so we decided to add a few other charms.
Then there were a couple of purchased items to fill out the list - a pair of stripey socks and a purple quill.
The quill sits nicely in the ink bottle, but I didn't get a photo of it.
I didn't really feel that this fitted the swap requirements, so I also included a few other Luna related goodies:
Luna's butterbeer cork necklace:
A small altered puzzle (all Luna related images):
And a stenciled t-shirt with a Luna quote:
I am so happy you liked everything Mariak - I had so much fun making it all for you. The books were the biggest challenge, as they were made from scratch, but I am definitely going to have to make some for myself.
Off now to open up my box, so I will be back later with some more pics for you all!
