Hmmm thinking of this idea: this swap would be for one medium or maybe large project.
Any creature from the sea made as your best artist doll/sculpture.
The theme is open to many ideas such as fish, octopus, squid, sea anemones, sharks, whales etc. I would like to keep the creatures real though! no mermaids etc. but you can add some whimsy if you want.
You would be free to make your item from your most favorite  crafting materials.
You might be the best at needle felting, or wet felting, making fabric plush creatures, paper mch, or maybe you are a whiz at clay. I would love to see a gallery at the end of peoples best work, that showcases how good they are Wink
The sea creature would be 3D ( so no embroidery hooplas)
I am setting up a inspiration board on Pinterest and will post the link soon.
Who's interested? I'm thinking June/ July for this one, so we have plenty of time to get ideas and get supplies. I'm also thinking, that as the host of this that, there would be a little prize I will offer, for creature voted the best in the gallery by all the members!!

Would they have to be realistic looking items or could they be caricatures of the creatures?

No they don't have to be realistic looking. You can add your own whimsy charm to them!
here is my inspiration board I quickly made.

I would be up for this. My best medium is plushies.  I would need a long crafting time though.  Time to add a lot of detail.

Yes I want this to be low pressure, enjoyable and that way it will really showcase out skills I think. Very exciting. How long does everyone think for crafting time?

If I had 4 to 8 weeks crafting time, that would give me plenty of time, to take my time.  To do my absolute best w/o feeling rushed.  To add a lot of detail, especially small details.  But, whatever is best for everybody else, works for me too.  I've already got a couple of ideas swimming around in my head.  I hope they turn out as good as I see them in my mind's eye.

This sounds interesting. Yes 4 weeks or longer is good. Like "gotgrey" said "To do my absolute best w/o feeling rushed."  The details is what takes the longest, especially hand sewing I do love it, but it can be intense & takes a long time. Anyway I like the Idea & sounds fun!
