I made this doll for waggonswest for the most recent art doll swap. She's a flower sprite. I made her from La Doll Stone Clay.

Her hair is made from this golden brown yarn I think it was the Vanna White stuff. The butterfly on her head was handdyed. It was originally a light Mint color and I darkened it up. The rose in her hair is made of paper.

Her dress is made from the guts of the Harry Potter novel I gutted and turned into a book safe. I colored her dress using Tim Holtz inks. The dress was then decoupaged for protection, texture and shine. She is unfinished to give her a more primitive look. My next doll will be varnished I think. I plan on making other dolls like this.

I am super pleased how she came out.

Please let me know what you all think.

 Thanks!

She is absolutely adorable. I love her hair and dress!
Did you print the letters on the dress fabric or was it already like that?
And what's the hair made of?

Thank you all very much. I have not really worked with clay before so I was pretty pleased she turned out looking like she did.

The dress is paper. I had pages of a book and I hand ripped the pieces into the shapes I wanted them, colored them and decoupaged them right onto the doll. The hair is made of yarn that I untwisted to give her wild, fluffy hair.

She really is adorable! And the colors are so perfect- I love how fragile she looks and her darling little face  Grin Your swap partner indeed is very lucky.

Very adorable, I love the difference in color on the dress (the edges being a different color than the center) and her joints give her the perfect touch of whimsy and fragility (frailness?).

She's so pretty Smiley

Her hair is amazing, it looks so full of life and vibrant.
I love her dress, too, it looks like it's made of flower petals, the colouring with the inks really makes it Smiley  It's a nice reuse of the leftovers from another project, too!

Thanks everyone! I'm currently working on another foll similar to this one. I'm not sure how well I did because she's looking plump rather than long and lanky. I suppose each doll will end up having their own form and figure until I can get a handle on how to achieve the shapes in the original. I wish I had a video camera to record myself making things so I could retrace my steps when trying to reproduce them.
