This quilt is based on a pic a friend of mine postedonline. he had just come from the spice market and had a bowl full of these bright amazing looking clear bags of a wide variety of spices.

Ad since he's also a pretty smart guy... I figure he will spot the fibonacci sequence right off. I LOVE how this turned out. Simple and modern and bold. and its backed with a bright teal floral edged in gold.

A facebook friend just pointed out that the Fourth Doctor would approve of this quilt, and now i cant see anything but a huge Tom Baker scarf. Smiley

I love the colors and story behind it! It turned out so great!

of course, I had to look it up online to remember that its connected to the golden ratio - what a perfect base for a beautiful quilt!
But, could you explain how it embodies the fibonacci sequence? I think I see a few panels that might be the width of 1, 1, 2, 3, 5 etc but then does it repeat?

anyway, it is super cool!!

It is indeed only the 1,1,2,3,5 portion. Each block is 12 inches square. The colours are selected randomly. One column goes up the other down. Just for aesthetic appeal. And movement.
