I have been watching entirely too much American Horror Story: Coven lately. Murder House used to be my favorite season, but it may have competition now. I was feeling inspired by all the great piano shawls that Misty Day and Stevie Nicks wear, so I wanted to make something similar. I found this awesome pattern on Ravelry. It's the Black Swan shawl by DROPS design. I crocheted it up, and here it is!

It didn't take as long as I thought it would for the actual crocheting. I opted to stitch it together with a yarn needle instead of single crocheting all those squares (I think it makes a smoother look, but maybe that's just me). The stitching together part took FOR EV ER. Gah! But it's done and I love it!

Fellow hookers, is there an alternative to crocheting or stitching granny squares together? Yeesh!  Wink

That is a gorgeous and snuggly looking shawl.   Cheesy

Other than sewing or crocheting together all I can think of is to "join as you go" and I don't think it would look as nice as sewing with this particular motif.

Looks great! I always appreciate the effort that goes into a great big shawl like that. Well done!
