My first (finished) fair isle project!
It has a <3, aka a heart, sideways, when typed out. I have a friend who says that all the time online, and it's her Christmas present. I figured out the stitches per inch for the black yarn, which is rowan's yarn that's cotton and cashmere (or is it Debbie Bliss? It was leftover from something else, anyway...). After I figured out the gauge and measured my wrist and hand, I wrote out a grid on graph paper and painstakingly figured it out from there. Because I suck at Excel, and because I don't have a computer at home right now anyway.
It still needs to have the ends woven in and it needs blocking...also, next time, I think I'll do ribbing instead of seed stitch at the top and bottom.
But it's legible and it fits over my hand and onto my wrist! I can't wait to give it to my friend.
BTW: Two-handed fair isle on dpns kinda sucks. Talk about wrestling an octopus.
(Boo, it won't let my post a picture yet. But I can link to it, at least...)
