Instead of fireworks, here are the Christmas presents Damson helped me with all weekend...

Song lyrics for my friend Christopher

Peeps (which will turn into ornaments) for my stepmom... I'm actually about to start the purple one in just a minute but Damson is my purply stand-in for now.

And we made some nametags too!

Back to work tomorrow but I have two big trips (okay, they're both in-state, but they're exciting) coming up during the last week of the month, back-to-back!

Okay,
I didn't think if be able to post much, but right now the internet seems okay, and everyone else is sleeping... So I can post a picture!

Stella and I are in Ely, UK right now for a choir tour! We'll be the choir in residence at the giant cathedral this week.

Here are the quiet streets this morning.

Wow! Stella is now a world traveler!

We've been taking Uluwehi with us everywhere but haven't taken too many pictures. She helped us build a "Kid Wash" for my kiddos on the 4th and is helping to plan my soon-to-be 8 year old's birthday party. We haven't done too many touristy things as we've been busy at home.

Here's what little photos I managed to get from the 4th. It just wound up being a terrible thunderstorm and a washout for fireworks.

There was so much lightning! And it was so bright that despite the fact it looks daylight here, it was really dark and storming. The lightning blew out every shot to almost total white!

Due to the crap visibility, Piper was wearing a blue and red glow stick for safety.

And the lightning hit a house and caught it on fire. The flames were so big we could see it miles away!

Yikes!   Shocked
I know! Turns out it was a 3 story house that took firefighters until the wee hours of Saturday to get under control. Sad Thankfully no one was hurt!

In comparison, here's what we did yesterday:

It's just a teaser pic but I will say Piper has now officially seen the Gulf of Mexico! Grin

We will have a slow week this week - hubby dropped off our car at the garage (steering bar not working 100%) and it will hopefully be fixed by the weekend or on Monday. This means no big outings for us unfortunately, just our own garden, and maybe some bus trip to soft play or the city farm. Wink

Harper has been helping me with the washing today, she was very helpful. She also likes lounging beside me in the camping chair while the girls are playing with the girls next door. Smiley
