So, as some of you may know, my Daddy fell down the stairs a few years ago.  Well, since then he says, "Happy, Happy, Happy", 6 or 7 times a day, just being glad to still be around (not because of the Duck people at all...).  So, for his 83 birthday, I took the opportunity to make him a sweatshirt declaring his new tag line to the world...

My Hub chose the first font because it looked happy.  The second one was for his love of teck and computers, and the third one was for his love of cars.  Since I managed to cut the letters out with out mucking them up, I decided to get in a bit of my Daddy's happy..

I picked the computer font since I probably wouldn't be involved in computers at all if it weren't for him.  He was an engineer by trade and I'm an artist by nature.  If it wasn't for his patiences with me and all the tecky stuff back in the days of the Commadore64, I would have thought all this tecky stuff was too far above me.  I saved the other font letters too, and I'm going to make my Mom a happy shirt with the first font.

Here's a few in progress pics..

He has worn it everyday since I gave it to him, and proudly shows it to anyone who will listen, which delights me to no end s he is notoriously difficult to get prezzies for.  And the fact that I could make him something makes me feel terribly clever Grin

Thanks for looking Grin

It is excellent!

And I am glad you captured the happy mental state he is in - a great idea and even better because he likes it! Grin

What a wonderful gift! It's very well thought.

It is also very neatly stenciled. I like the colors and font you used, they are happy too.

How about a happy song?

Here's a link to the lipdub my boys made at school:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x-XfNByhj1Q

At 0.10-0.12 at the right side you see a boy with a blue shirt, he sticks his tongue out when the camera passes... That is my oldest, Thijs.
At 1.45 you can see him again, in his classroom holding a sign. He is the smallest one  Tongue

At 0.57-0.58 you can see a boy in a dark blue shirt, holding a sign. He jumps. That is the youngest, Joris.
You can see him again at 1.22 when the camera goes back and at 3.00 in his classroom. He is sitting in the back, not so clearly to see.

A small school, not so many kids. They all appear more than once.  Smiley

Wendie--Thanks so much for sharing that!  Great way to start the day Grin.  I'll have to watch it when I have more time and find your kido's.  And what a beautiful group of people in general.  Is everyone in The Netherlands so vibrant and healthy looking? Grin

Sweets--Thanks.  He is like a little kid showing off his new favo thing wherever we go Grin

What a special project, suereal. Not only did you do a great job but the thought behind it is so sweet. I love everything about it.

Also, I could have guessed this was your Daddy! I can see the family resemblance.

My Dad's "Happy, Happy, Happy" philosophy has spread to out extended family.  His best friend told his sisters about it and they use the saying to help with daily frustrations.  So my Dad asked me to make them some shirts too...so I did.  Sadly, I can't find the photos I thought I took...I probably used the video option on my camera by accident.  Anyway, one of the sisters is a cowgirl, so I used a Western font in the middle Happy.  The other is artistic, so I used a brush stroke front for her middle Happy.  I just delivered them to my Dad's BF a week ago, so it will take some time for them to get them....but who doesn't love a free tshirt Grin
