In the past 6 months, weve only spent 3 weeks at home. Were in Los Angeles for a week, then its up to Monterey for the month of May. Im unpacking from one trip while packing for another, and oh yeah, working. Its so nice to be back with my stash again!

All the materials came from the deep recesses of my fabled fabric cabinet. Even Im surprised at how much I had stashed in there.

This was just a warm-up project, but Im still super pleased with how it turned out. Little bags for organizing and packing, who doesnt love that?

Great bags!  Is it difficult working with vinyl?  How do you keep it from slipping while you stitch?

I used alligator clamps instead of pins, and had the vinyl against the bed of my machine, so that the blue fabric was in contact with my presser foot. No problems!

Thanks for the tip.  Last time I attempted clear vinyl it was all wrinkled. Read I needed a walking foot. Nice wor.

It's the fabric-like backing on the blue vinyl that allows the work to slide through the machine regularly. If sewing clear vinyl to clear vinyl, I've had success by sandwiching the layers between tissue paper... but mostly I try to avoid the clear-on-clear projects! Long stitches help too.

Another tip is to put scotch tape on the bottom of your presser foot!  This will help with the foot sticking to the vinyl.  I bought a teflon coated foot which made all my problems with vinyl disappear!
