There's a bit of reinventing the wheel to this project, but it was a result of my personal desire to figure out how to translate any shape into a pleated shape.
For my first attempts I made a heart and a star.  These two are about 3 inches across.




I also made tiny stars.



Easy to hand cut (there is a lot of scoring--but I did think to set the scores 1/4" apart which works well on a scoring board), or machine cut.
