I brought this home from Pottery class last night.  He's about 9" long & will hang on the wall.  My only disappointment is that the intructor had her asistant turn on the kiln & she didn't get the temperature right.  That's why the crackles on his fins & tail didn't melt down.  They adhered but didn't melt.  I could ask her to refire it but don't really mind the way it is.

I actually don't know what should have melted, but whatever it was, I'm glad it didn't, b/c I really like the look of this fish!

There are tiny black particles on the fins & tail that should have melted & flattened into the surface to give a more mottled effect.  Because the temperature wasn't high enough, they're still rough little nuggets, like unmelted glass chips, raised on the surface.  I love the speckled glazes & use them often with no problem.  Fortunately, I like this effect too.
