I posted my first and second attempt at making a purse from pop cans in the reconstruct purse board, so i figured i'd post the new Make-Up bag version here.

This was a special order i made for a friend.  She wanted a makeup bag so i used 10 7-Up Plus cans and walla!

(I promise the zipper is straight and in the middle)

Changes made from previous versions:
I used crochet cotton instead of acrylic yarn.  I'm hoping it will hold up better than the acrylic because it gets fuzzy and nasty looking
smaller hook- a g i think to make it less bulky and tighter
i used iron on interfacing on the lining to give it a little more strength so it doesnt get so floppy as my previous Pepsi purse.
It has a zipper! fancy sixth grade sewing skills! yea zipper!
no handles since its a makeup bag

I forgot to measure it, poo.  its about umm...12 inches by 7 inches?  its good sized.

the original purse and tutorial is located here.  what do you think of version 4.0?

I think it is awesome.  I love the random zipper placement.

It's pink!

This is an excellent way to recycle for those who live in a non-deposit state. I live in MI so those cans are worth a dime a piece to me. Most states don't have bottle returns though, therefore most people don't recycle aluminum. Awesome, I love it.

Wow. I love it. I've always wondered how to make these things. I love the color choices.

both of those purses are really cool! i really want to make  the original because my parents drink at least 10 diet pepsi's a day so i would easily find enough cans to make a diet bag. Smiley

secretly awesome

That's so creative.  I love projects that combine a bunch of different crafty things.

If I was any more open, I'd be inside out.

That's a great idea. Everyone is just using the tabs, but this way you can get your supplies faster than collecting the millions of pop tabs.
