So, during the "turn off the TV" week, while looking for something to do and find ways to use up all the crap, I mean extra supplies, in the house, we decided to make toys from drawings.

Bigger kid went the more traditional way and drew a yellow dragon (it also had a crown and a ball and a different tale tip, but they got changed by her during the process).
And the kindertgartener drew a super colorful cat-like animal, she called Miss Match, and during the sewing process, instead of trying to match the gazillion color patches on it, I let her pick the fabrics for everything, the 10 (!!!) legs included Cheesy

Both are over 10" and cuddly.

I think they turned out nice Smiley
(Showing the drawings here would be nice too, but the pictures got put away before I got a chance).

Hope You like! Smiley

These are so wonderful, petskin! What great little treasures for your kids. They are lucky to have such a talented Mom and they seem to have your creative genes too Smiley.

Thanks! Smiley
It really was fun to make these with them, also having them stuff all these legs worked out well Cheesy

And they do love arts and crafts- they tried felting and occasionally play around with it and make stuff all the time.
I hope they'll keep these plushies, but we'll see- between me and grandma (my mom, who is amazing at sewing and crochet/kit/drawing...), they have bins full of handmade toys Cheesy
(and of course they love barbies and monster highs and such too... but always tell you, that handmade is the best Smiley)

I've seen this concept before. I need to do it. These turned out lovely! Lucky them, lucky you.

What a great idea. I bet your children really love them! I wish I had thought of that when my children were younger.

Great pair, but I think Miss Match is definitely the best design out of the two.  I wish that real cats had five pairs of multi-colored legs like that.

I can't remember his name, but there's this illustrator that takes children's drawings and then makes his own more realistic interpretations of them on canvas, which is what your plushies reminds me of.
