Say anyone up to do a recycle bag swap. I don't organized I would make a mess of it HA! But I've wanted to do a recycle bag. I would like to make one out of plastic bags & knit or crotchet it. I think it's called plarn, plastic grocery bags made into yarn not sure. I think that would be fun. Maybe as an extra we could make Morsbags or coin pouches, coupon holders etc.  The main bag would be the recycle bag!                     What do you all think!!

I'm bumping this up.....
How about a plarn tote or a t-shirt tote or any recycled material tote.  You can even just make it a swap using recycle d stuff to create something new with it Nyone interested in recycling?

There's been previous rounds of a 'Frugal Living' swap and I've been thinking of organizing another round of that one for awhile (after asking the previous organizer if she minds).  Lots of people make recycled bags for that swap.

Would anyone be open to this kind of swap?

I thought that I cut and pasted the links to the past galleries, but I guess it didn't work.  Well, here's a list of the last four galleries.

I would love to do this "preg_replace('/(.{19})/', '$1 ', 'LadybugsAndBumblebees')" but I would have to wait till end of the month at least. Other wise I can't do it. I think we should have 4 weeks since we have to make the pharn & then knit or crochet which takes time, at least I do!  Thanks for organizing. We'll see what happens!

What do you think about the weeks of July 27th to August 9th (two weeks) for signups and then crafting time from August 10th to September 6th (four weeks), with sendouts September 7th.

I would also like to keep the swap the 'Frugal Living' swap...I like that one b/c it opens it up to whatever frugal/recycled/eco-friendly items people may want (i.e.-the plarn bags you mentioned, cloth napkins, homemade soap, etc...).

Yes that sounds pretty good. I should be done with 2 of my swaps maybe even another one. Yes that's fine to call it that. I don't mind. Hopefully I can sign up. It sounds fun!

The idea of plarn totes interested me as I have a couple of them in the past.  One of them was done in tan bags and I lined it and it was just the right size for a purse and it looked almost like it was straw.  I even put a zipper on it. (ugh!)  I also made a white  (with red and blue print) tote and lined that one also.  Making the plarn is very time consuming and crocheting with it is a little hard on the hands and takes longer than working with yarn.  I also crocheted a nice clutch bag from VHS tape.  (I still have quite a few of those tapes I could use.)
I wasn't thinking of such a large swap as those past Frugal Living ones.  I'm not up to large-ish swaps.  As it is a plarn bag does take a lot of hours to make.  I don't have t-shirts or sheets to rip up to make stuff out of that and my fabric stash is not that huge.
I'll keep an eye on this and see how it develops.

I know what you mean about the amount of work it takes to make one of those plarn totes.  I did a few and then I stopped b/c it's just so much work and so hard on your hands!  Maybe I can entice you to join the frugal living swap if I make the swap requirements (to send) low?  It's summertime, so I'm sure everyone can appreciate a low stress swap, and if people want to send more, they can agree to it with their partner.

I appreciate your feedback!

I know there are those who like to include and receive "extras" with their swaps, and there are those who don't because 1) the time it takes to make all those extras & 2) the financial aspect of it.  Although I'm retired I don't have a lot of time as I do a lot of volunteer crafting for a charity group so that limits me.  I assume that those who work a/o have children also don't have too much free time.
I personally don't like big swaps. If this was reduced to a smaller swap, I might be interested
