I made a couple things for Knickertwist for the Complete Nonsense Swap.  One was this little nonsense house of embroidered felt:

Better pics in the Nonsense swap thread:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=432329.10#axzz2yDZCmIhz

The other thing was this Mervyn Peake quote.  This is not my design, except for adding the words which are printed on fabric, I simply stitched over some psychedelic fabric I'd been saving for years.  I did not know what I was getting myself into when I started this!  It felt like it would take me the rest of my life.  I even left some areas unstitched.  Roll Eyes  But ultimately I like how it turned out and may do more pieces in this manner, just a lot smaller, or if with words added - much larger words!   Cheesy

SSSqqquuueeeing on the wee house!  I love his shaggy hair roof, but the fish tail is FABO!  And the birdy head is adorable.  I thought at first is was about They Might Be Giants, "Birdhouse In Your Soul" Grin

That hoopla is amazing as well.  So much work!  But it came out so fab I think it was worth the effort Grin.

I have to SQUEEEAL- the nonsense house is fabulistic and  utterly surreal! I love it!
I admire the nonsensical idea and the amazing perfection displayed in the stitching and construction- this really Rocks! Grin

Both of these pieces are simply astonishing!  Except complicatedly astonishing!  I'm a sucker for a wee house and this one is one of my favorites.

I just finished an embroidery project, therefore I can only imagine how long that hoopla took you. You have my respect, it looks amazing!
I love the house too. Such a great imagination!  Smiley

Thank you!  My imagination is almost completely borrowed from the guy quoted above, except the parts which are borrowed from other folks....   Smiley

That quote piece is a very in depth piece - love the brightness of it.  I especially love the koi tail on the house - wonderful!

embroidered felt house, yeah right there that's pretty cool, but the house is a face and the roof is hair, that's up a notch to brilliant, and then, then you go and add fish and bird parts? all done in your impeccable stitching? genius.  I want to be Ludi when my crafting grows up.
