Grab a coffee
« Reply #170 on: May 23, 2014 07:04:46 AM »

Wow, Grab a Coffee, you are busy!! Show us what you're making.  I'd love to see the Hungarian pins and keychains!

Haha, someone is reading my facebook page?! Smiley
Well... as per request, here they are:
The Hungarian folk (maty) pins:

Keychains (and a little explanation):
In the Hungarian education system we are using a five-point scale at schools. There is one failing grade: 1 elgtelen (insufficient). In general, the lowest passing mark is either 50% or 60%, or one mark (point) higher. Passing grades are 2 elgsges (sufficient or pass), 3 kzepes (mediocre or satisfactory), 4 j (good) and 5 jeles (excellent). Sometimes "5*", five starred ("csillagos ts") is used to indicate outstanding performance throughout the semester. My mother is a teacher, and she was wondering, what could she give to her graduates. She decided that she will hand out some 'five starred' keychains...  So I had to make like 40 of them.

Now, I am working on little owls and little birds... 15/15... so I have much to do at the weekend. Smiley Just started to cut them out.

Eszter you really know how to rock the felt! Those 5's are a lovely idea.

Knickertwist's hats are amazing! Thank you for posting the link alwaysinmyroom. I'm not decorating the ones for Franki's party - she and a girlfriend are supposed to do it tonight. We have tons of ribbons, little plastic gem stones, feathers, buttons etc... I can't wait to see the mess they make after I have spent all day cleaning  Roll Eyes oh well... as long as she has fun

So apparently my package to SheepBlue is taking the scenic route!  Expected delivery was for yesterday, but apparently it sat at my post office for 3 days before heading out to the sort facility!  Seems as though it's finally on it's way out of CA.  I hope!  Too bad packages can't talk because I bet they would have some major stories to tell!

So many beautiful things here, and what am I doing? Laundry. And winding floss on bobbins, this is taking ages. But I hope to be through tonight. And then I have to decide on how to sort, by colour or by brands/numbers?

And for today, more laundry! The 2yo tried stamping fabrics today, she went with ripe strawberries on a white velvety chair... Lovely red and smells delicious, but I guess I had better go and add some lemon to that. Water didn't work. (Worked on the carpet, luckily!)

But I finished my floss-winding! Still undecided on how to keep them, but I know I need more bobbins.

You may also want to try vinegar. I don't know if it will work on strawberries, but I've tried it with blood on carpet successfully.
