Little Red and her dapper friend got lots of attention this weekend with our out of town guests. What fun to have something so fantastic to show off.

Been out of town and haven't kept up Embarrassed.
Wow! Big Bad Wolf and Red Riding hood are awesome! I would love to learn to do that. I guess I need a free form attachment needle or something.I just have a simple Brother from Walmart and can't find the snap-on or leg?
Still working on art doll. She's going in a different direction so we'll both be surprised by the results Grin

The only thing one really needs to do free motion is to be able to drop the feed dogs, adjust the thread tension a bit (on my Phaff I make it looser), and then have the foot not completely in the down position.  You want the position just over the completely down position.  It is helpful to have an embroidery foot or a darning foot, but you can use any that has a wider hole.  If you have a walking foot you want it up and out of the way.  It does help to go as fast as you can..at least for me.  I normally use a universal needle.  It can be helpful as well to get some very thin paper to use on the back of the piece.  I got some of the rolls used at doctors offices on the exam tables.  It works great.  Normal tissue paper works, though I would stick to white, as the colors in tissue are not super stable.  One drop of water could make the colors run into your piece.  Don't work on the end piece first too.  Make some small bats to practice on before you start in on something important.  There is a learning curve for free motion, but it just takes time and practice to get through it Grin
