I like to do both.

Here's the pin I'm using for my inspiration: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/250864641713752312/

I found a cute vintage ornament box at a garage sale, and just ordered a lovely, very kitschy reindeer on etsy. I've loved that idea since I first saw it, so I was very excited to find the box!

I, too, am a Pinterest addict. And I have attempted a few things - one already posted.
I dyed a book with Rit dye:

And the pin that inspired it: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/278308451945128217/

And I try a few things with and for the preschoolers - chalk paint, salt clay, weaving, etc.

And tonnnnnnnnnsssssss of art journal prompts and ideas.

What a great idea! Now, I need to find time and choose where to start. But first, I'll have to go on Pinterest to see all the wonderful goodies on your lists!

Tried this pin tonight:
http://www.pinterest.com/pin/112308584432343936/

It is super easy, and I plan to try making them a bit more realistic on the next ones. For the first they look okay.

I recommend using fine glitter. Once inserted in the wire use a stiff paint brsh to lightly pounce the clay to give it texture like a real druzy.

The two larger ones turned out better.
