I decided not to join then I I looked at my patch collection and decided resistance was indeed futile.  2014 is shaping up to be my best stash busting year ever and what better way to use those wonderful little bits and scraps than TM patches?

I, too, am stash busting like crazy this year so I believe a TM patch swap is perfect!  Yay for destashing!!!

Stash busting is a newly added goal of mine, so I am (barely) resisting the urge to go buy a bunch of fun new things, and telling myself over and over "look at all the neat things in your stash... wouldn't you like to use some of those things?... you don't need to go to the craft store..." We'll see how successful I am by the end.  Grin

I agree! These patches are perfect for stash busting! I just spent the afternoon (and early evening) at my friend's house and I we each made our first patches!

Here's mine:

I had a different plan in mind when I started (which is why the last 2 letters {the first ones I stitched} curve upwards), but I changed it at least twice as I went along. But, I really like how it came out, even though it took a lot longer than I expected Smiley

Here is the one my friend made (she's not on Craftster, yet!):

It's made using pieces of cashmere sweaters, and is super soft!

If I have time, I might try another one this week Grin

Arghhhh! Teesha Moore, you are an evil woman! And Crafster, you are a dark and brooding enabler. I have been stalking, but resisting this swap... until today. I had never seen or heard of these patches before and decided to go through past galleries, and then watch the tutorials, and then realize that I had a stash of awesome bits of fabric I've been hording for no real purpose other than to entertain my inner bower bird. I had to stitch some pillows together, pull out my embroidery floss and give-it-a-whirl.

Why! WHY!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

You will be receiving my questionnaire before the weekend is over.

Oh, and craftADDchick... you're not helping the resistance.

That is all.

"craftADDchick" I use what's in my fabric stash & what ever floss I have. Great find your floss!  I got some on craiglist's once a whole bag full, but I do like the thicker ones that are longer & twisted sold by the others ones & it's pearl cotton. I used that more for going around the perimeter I like it to show & the regular floss I like it so I can separate it & just use 1 or 2 strands to sew in the felt things or other accessories because I don't want it to show that much.
Your patches looks great!  Glad you had fun making those with your friend. I did make a couple blanks & need to make more. I had to color & highlight my hair yesterday it needed to be done. HA
"meowari" I'm so sorry about your hands. I understand about what happens, mine get to crapping sometimes I have to put them hot water & it helps. You take care!
"GoldenSunshine" Yeah I'm so glad you are signing up!!

Ahhhh! The waiting for partners drives me nuts. When I decide to do a swap I want to get started now! Grin
Fortunately with this one I can get a pile of these patches made then embellish them as I may need to or pick the ones that will suit my partner(s) the best. Yay for scrap-using-uppy-ventures!

Sharalee, I think I need to do a bit of stash organizing so I can see what I have to really play with (some of my stash is "dedicated" fabric, so I can't use it now). And, when I got to my friend's house, she had a whole bin of pearl cottons to use (and I used the very fussy metallic silver), and bunches of beads. I used my own fabric, floss and polyfil Smiley  And, now that I've made one, I can see the value in making up a bunch of pillows in advance!

artsycandice, as soon as I locate my index cards (they are nearby, but I can't see them just yet), I will actually do some preliminary partner work (subject to change, of course, but it helps me to feel more organized, even if it changes completely!). Does that make you feel any better? Grin  And now, I'd best go sign you up officially Wink

Very excited to do this swap! I've had my eye on the Teesha Moore patches for a while and now this will be incentive for me to start making more patches from the basket of supplies I've been gathering for a while!
