Hooray for goatgoddess! And, meowari, Sharalee is right- one partner & 1 patch is definitely an option.

On Saturday, I'm visiting one of my art teacher friends, and I'm thinking that we may need to do a little patch making! We don't have any definite plans (or any tentative ones, either) besides lunch, so it could be just the thing! I bet she'd love making them, too! I'll have to pack up some supplies, just in case Smiley

"craftADDchick" Your fun sewing project with your friend sounds like lots of fun!!  Hope you can show us all what you made! It'd be exciting to see what you come up with.  I think I'll make some blanks of different fabrics & colors & put the accessories in later. Also have to look through my stash for the kit to put together. Might have to go on a shopping spree!!!  YA..............   Grin

Sharalee, I think I'm going to dig through my fabric stash and see what I can find (and then head to bed... it's been a long week!). And, I like the idea of making up a bunch of "blanks" so you only have to add the details.

I'll definitely post pics of what I make this weekend (even if it's only one Smiley ). I haven't heard back from my friend, so I'm assuming it's a go!

I saw in her video that she uses pearl cotton, but can regular embroidery floss work? I don't want to have to buy anything right now...

I pretty much always use normal stranded floss, since i have a good colour range in stash. Works fine  Grin (actually.... I sometimes prefer it since it's a thinner thread, even though i use two strands - so it lays flatter. I like to have varying textures to my patches)

Thanks, noodle-bug! I have a whole bunch of floss that I picked up at a yard sale. It came all wrapped neatly on little cardboard "spools" and stashed in plastic cases... but not labeled, so I don't know color/brand, making it perfect for these patches!

Hey "meowari" I understand what you mean about getting overwhelmed, but you could just get one partner & make 1 TM patch. Also make a bunch of patches up before hand have different colors & sizes & when you get your partner then put on the accessories when you know what her themes are. Just a Idea. I'm in the Art Doll Swap too! Anyway I would do a Personal swap with you if you want also?

Thanks for that, Sharalee, but I think I'll wait. I did a personal TM swap a couple of years ago and my hands got so bad that it took me 3 months to get the patches to my partner (I couldn't hold a pen, much less a needle) and I'm a little superstitious about both TM and personal swaps now... I went to physical therapy and I have pretty much full use of my hands now, but I am so scared that it will happen again. It's terribly unreasonable, but I just associate those two things with my hands not working  Sad

On the other hand, I do need to face my fears... Darn you, fellow craftsters, for being such a supportive community! Arghhh! I am 99.99% convinced that I can do this, but I will probably wait a little while to make the final decision  Undecided

GoldenSunshine, plenty of room! And, I'll be gone most of the day, so I'll add in any new swappers tonight!

And, hopefully, I'll have my first ever TM patch finished Smiley

I decided not to join then I I looked at my patch collection and decided resistance was indeed futile.  2014 is shaping up to be my best stash busting year ever and what better way to use those wonderful little bits and scraps than TM patches?
