Hi all,
I'm just getting into crochet and amigurumi by jumping straight in, but I'm having a problem figuring out how exactly to do a couple of the stitches in my chart.

The first problem I have is with the hands for the little person I'm making. It starts with a magic circle, increasing up to 16 stitches in the round, but in row 6 there's this instruction:

sc6, sc3tog, ch, sc6, inc (16 sts)

I get that I single chain six, but how do I stitch three together? Do I do an invisible decrease like I have been doing only with three stitches instead of two? Or is it something else?

And does anyone know a good tutorial or video for double and half-double stitches?

Thank you!

Because they're SC, to join three togethter, go in to the stitch, bring wool through but don't do anything else. Go into the next stitch, bring wool through, but don't do anything else. Gointo the third stitch, bring wool through - you'll have four stitches on your hook - the original, plus the three you are decreasing. Pretend that all four stitches on your hook are really just one giant stitch, wool around hook and pull through - just like doing a normal SC
