Hi I have what I think maybe a stupid question.  I am fairly new to machine embroidery.  I just got a Brother 2800D and absolutely love it!  But the question I have is I've read several places some embroidery projects referred to as "in the hoop"...what does that mean?  Isn't everything in the hoop when it comes to machine embroidery?.....examples... In the hoop treat bags,  in the hoop fanny pack....Can someone help me understand?  Thanks!!!!  Kathy

Not stupid at all! Welcome Smiley

In the hoop or ITH: means that the machine embroidery design is constructed entirely in the embroidery hoop. The designs are great when you do not like to cut out patterns and for those who have very little sewing experience, although experienced sewers like them too.
