I was gifted a whole bunch of darning yarn cards a few months ago. Apart from using the yarns on them for their intended purpose, I wanted to do something with the pretty cards. I was finally inspired to make them into bookmarks. I got quite excited and made a whole bunch. You can never have too many bookmarks! Cheesy

They all have pretty much the same design elements, lace and ribbon tops (attached with staples), paper tape measure, flowers, stamps and butterflies.

So pretty and practical. Smiley

Have loads of those in my Grandmother's sewing box, and never knew what to do with them.

Thank you! They make great bookmarks, you're just limited to thin paper decorative bits and bobs so you can keep the bookmarks pretty flat. The tape measure I used is from a paper sheet I bought in Italy, but I think you can buy paper variations in lots of places. Smiley

What a great idea! They all turned out beautifully. I also think they'd be pretty all framed together as a set.

These are so lovely and romantic! The cards are unique and make such a great base for the bookmarks.
