Seriously started to wonder what I got myself into.  Spent the evening reading art doll books, looking at patterns, looking at dolls...  this is much more involved that I initially imagined.  I've got some ideas and a back up plan but Oh My it is going to be an interesting ride!

"Real" or "traditional" art dolls are so intricate and detailed and pretty, but sooo not the path I chose for this swap!  Cheesy  I don't want to give too much away (though it should hopefully arrive to meowari tomorrow?!), but the one I made is more mixed media/altered/assemblage style.  I say make whatever you want...I'm sure your initial ideas were great!  Don't forget the swap photo Smmarrt chose, either!  Wink  Art doll, but not "traditional art doll," like I see in most art doll books.  (I just thought I'd chime in because I had to give myself that same pep talk!  Grin )

Wish me luck  Wink. I'm about to cut into my material and get the base started  Grin. This should be a fun swap everyone. There shouldn't be any pressure about whether what you're making your partner is considered an "art doll"  by someone but something your partner will like and appreciate. At least that's my humble opinion if you want to consider.
ART/BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER and the effort put into it.

I got lucky and found a doll body in my stash! She now has a new head, some paint and is sitting there quite indecently clothed in nothing.....now to the fun part, dressing her up! Who will she become?Huh?

Today at work was slow, so I got a lot of planning done about the materials I want to use and how I'm going to put my doll together... I really hope it works out, because I received from LovelyMiss today and I am completely blown away by the doll she sent me! I have some big doll shoes to fill! I'll post in the gallery in a little while, I need to find my camera cord first  Tongue
