I would like Canadian partners more often, but, the cost of shipping usually prohibits me.  Does anybody know the cheapest way to ship to Canada?  Thank you in advance.

As in all things postal, much depends on the size, weight and how fast you want to ship.  I'm in Canada and have noticed that there is a huge difference in my own shipping costs to the USA between Express Priority and Priority- there is usually a $20 difference in price and although they claim Express is so much faster it really only saves a day or two.  So I try and do a combination of smaller, lighter package size and choose the mode of shipping that won't give me a heart attack Cheesy  Other than that if shipping costs are a concern its probably best to stick with the One Tiny Thing, ATC and paper swaps etc.

It is also a good idea to become familiar with the site for your country's postal service which will list all the weight/size guidelines and give you a good idea of what it might cost before you package everything up.  I invested in a second hand kitchen weight scale (yard sale!) and weigh my package as best I can before I tape it up-sometimes one small thing will put it to the next price level weight wise.

I just finished a swap where I shipped to Canada from the US for the first time. I used a regular Manila envelope and sent a hoop, so it was quite light.

My options for shipping were about $6 with no delivery time frame or $20 for a 6-10 day delivery time frame.

I went with the more expensive option because I didn't want my partner to have to wait forever and because I was worried the cheap option wouldn't fulfill the swap requirements.

That's all I know, hope it helps! Smiley
