I'm kind of intimidated by the 14-in-2014 Quiltalong, so I was wondering if there's anyone else interested in starting a newbie quiltalong? Like, one where we count completed blocks instead of entire quilts  Grin

I'm experienced in all kinds of crafts and I've been trying to get into quilting for years. I like the finished result a lot, but I'm not really that good in sewing and cutting straight lines and I find it hard to keep myself motivated for large projects that get boring every now and then. I think a quiltalong thread would make me more productive.

Also, I'd like to experiment with different types of blocks, so I wonder if anyone would be interested in doing something like a block-of-the-month? So far, I've only tried log cabin and snow ball blocks and I think it would be much more fun to mess up new blocks together.

So far I've completed one quilt and working on two: a log cabin quilt made from old pairs of jeans and a snowball block flower print baby quilt (eternal WIP, waaaay too much cutting) .

You could absolutely count blocks in the 14 in 2014 quilt along, or just put 1 or 2 quilts on your list!

Thanks for the invitation!

I've been lurking in that thread and I've seen the beautiful things you guys have made, so I felt a bit too shy to start posting pictures of my work in progress. I figured it would be less intimidating to start a new thread where everyone's work is wonky. ( I've been on craftster long enough to know that you ladies are a friendly bunch! It's just in my head, I guess).

But I'll happily join your thread if there are no other newbies interested in this one, or if you mods decide one Quiltalong is enough.

Most of the quilts I have listed are "finish the quilts I already started."   Grin  In other words, I completed the top in a prior lifetime and I really need to get the backing & binding on.  So not full on quilts.

I love wonky!

And i sing waggonswest "corners dont match" song all the time!

There are no quilt police here. Smiley

A quilt, a block. Post lots!

I binge, i'llmake eleventy million tops and fold them and stack them neatly. Then i'll binge baste and quilt, and stack them neatly. Then i'll binge make tops again. Smiley Eventually all of the folded neatly quilts and tops tip off the shelf and threaten to bury me  and i will get around to binding them.

Work at your pace. Compare yourself to noone but you.

Seeking scraps! I'm in need of a variety of white on white scraps. (2.5inch square minimum) for pixel quilts. Have any? Swap for? PM me! Smiley

I'd join you in a beginner quiltalong Immaculata. I have a table runner in progress as my first real quilting project but I'm woefully short on fabric after a huge destash of scraps as I was "never going to try quilting"  Roll Eyes so I need to buy some fabric before I attempt to make any blocks to mess up along with you  Grin

This what it looks like before basting and backing and binding which are in progress at the moment  Smiley
