Welcome to the Ongoing Gift Swap Round 16!!!

As you guys requested here is the ongoing holiday list swap. However, since we're now going to try to make it a year long gift-giving swap I've decided to rename it the Ongoing Gift Swap.  This swap is perfect for all of your gift giving needs! Whether you need gifts on hand for Christmas, Valentines, Easter or thanksgiving, they could be for birthdays or make me smile days. It's the perfect swap for family members, friends, teachers and co workers. Say you know a friend would love a knit or crochet scarf but you can't do that? Well, this swap is for you!! Come join us!

How it works:

This swap will work in an ongoing format.  The first person in the swap will post a list of handmade items that they would like.  The participants then look through the list and if they can fulfill that particular wish, they claim that person for that item and post their own list for the next person to claim them.  This works like a chain.  Person A is claimed by Person B, Person B is claimed by Person C, etc.  You must claim to be claimed and only one person can claim another at a time.

Each FOC can have up to 3 outstanding claims at a time.  A non-FOC craftster gets 2 claims at a time.  A new swapper can have 1 claim at a time.  Once one of your claim is sent and the organizer is notified with a dc# you may claim again.

What is on the list:

Each participant can post as many size medium requests as they would like in their list.  Please try to post a minimum of 10 items you would like so there is a variety and a better chance of not stalling the swap.  You may post larges or smalls as well, but please realize that to fulfill the swap requirements, you are only required to claim and send a medium.  This swap will be for handmade items only.  Organizing your list by crafting medium is a good idea to help other participants find something on your list that they are good at, but is not required.  Please note that because these are holiday wishes we are filling, items should be your absolute best quality.

How to make your list:

Please format your list to have an introduction that lets us know a little more about you, such as your name, your general location, etc.  Please format your wishes so that each participant has a clear idea as to what you are looking for.  Posting links is highly advisable.  It is also a great idea to provide participants with as much relevant information on the gift recipient as possible.  Here is my suggested way for formatting each wish:

<item> <recipient> <preferences> <link>
<allergies>

Example:
Doll dress for my daughter.  She prefers pink floral fabric with a velcro or button closure.  Here is one she likes http://URL GOES HERE
Allergies:  Smoke

Including allergies right underneath of each wish keeps the allergies in focus.  This is such an important part to consider when claiming someone.  If you format your wishes like this, they will be clear and you are more likely to be claimed quickly.

Making a claim:

Once you make a claim, you must PM the participant that you are claiming for their address and to discuss the item you have claimed to make for them.  Once you make a claim, you are committed to making that item.  Remember, you only have two weeks to complete the item and ship it.  If you choose to send extras, they do not contribute to the size of the claim.  A medium is technically either between 2-3 hours in time, or $20-$30 in supplies/value.  To claim the person who is currently available, respond to their post with I claim <username> for <item claimed for>.  For example, if I were to claim myself to make socks, I would write, I claim mama24boyz for a hoopla.  Within that same response, you then post your own list so someone can claim you.

Send Outs:

Just like other ongoing swaps, you will have two weeks from the date of your claim to send out your item.  There are no exceptions.  DC#s will be absolutely required.  If you do not provide a DC#, it will be noted in your feedback.  If you do not provide a DC# and your package gets lost, you will be required to resend.  You must PM the organizers with the DC#/customs# when you send!

Qualifications to Join:

Anyone is free to join under standard Craftster Swap Guidelines.  Due to the time constraints on claims, I reserve the right to deny any Craftster that has a history of lateness.

Receiving packages:

Please PM me as soon as you receive each package.  This is so I can keep track of claims.  Pictures in the gallery are also appreciated.  Some of your fulfilled wishes might inspire other wishes for other participants.

Other important info:

You do not have to message me when you claim a person.  You only have to message them for their address.  Please PM me however when you send your questionnaire, when you send your claim, and when you receive a claim with the title: OGS 14: questionnaire, OGS 14: sent!, etc.  Also, Please PM me with any questions you have.

Please do not claim a person until you have been approved for this swap and it is listed in your profile!  Please do not claim a person once one of your claims has been received until the person receiving from you verifies your package arrived and is exactly what you claimed them for. (Unless you have open claim spots, of course!)

Sometimes, a person's list will stall the swap.  When your list has been up for more than 18-24 hours without someone claiming you, please try to add more items to your list so you have a better chance of being claimed.  Remember that it is possible that not all of your items will be claimed.

There will be a discussion/gallery thread in the Gallery area.  This is an area to give us updates and discuss this swap.

At the end of the month, whoever is the last on the list will be first on the list for the following month/or the organizer (me!) will be the ending claimer.  You will have to sign up for each additional round that you choose to participate in.  You must be current in the previous round to be accepted to the new round.

This swap is open to international swappers, as well as new swappers.

I reserve the right to deny participation to anyone who is late in previous rounds of this swap.  This is a holiday swap and should be fun!

If you want to participate, here is the information to send to the organizer.  Please have the title of your PM be the name of the swap.

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:

(3,0,1)

Hi!   Grin My name is Barbara (a.k.a.-LadybugsAndBumblebees).  I live in Long Island, New York.  I am a preschool teacher for 'at risk' students.  I have three children-DS age 20, DD age 11, and DD age 9.  I am married to my high school sweetheart.

*I do not have allergies, but the rest of my family has slight allergies.  I can swap with people who have pets, as long as the craft and supplies are kept away from the pet.  PLEASE do NOT claim me if you smoke, or have smokers in your house.  Thank you.*

On my Pinterest (link in signature), I have a board titled:  "Please Make Me A Gift For..."  On there is ideas of gifts for family, friends, co-workers, etc...  PLEASE make sure to check that board for ideas of what I want.

Here's a small sample of what I would like to receive from this swap:

FOR DS:
-cufflinks
-bowties
-anything nautical themed, tennis themed, croquet themed, polo themed (He's 20, so more tailored, "sophisticated" items, please.   Wink)
-anything monogrammed (his initials, in order, are JRS)
-preppy knicknacks
-things with foxes
-"manly" smelling homemade soap   Wink

FOR DD AGE 11:
-anything animal related
-books, and book related items
-Minecraft related items
-dream catcher to hang over her bed (any color but grey, black, or brown)
-pillowcase with birds on a wire

FOR DD AGE 9:
-clothes and accessories for her American Girl & Journey Girl dolls
-fancy scarves
-case for her camera (2 1/2 in. length, 3 1/2 width)
-duct tape wallet
-Minecraft related items
-dream catcher to hang over her bed (pink and purple are her favorite colors)
-fancy headbands
-pillowcase with birds on a wire
-duct tape case for her ipod (2 1/2 in. width, 4 1/4 length)
-a cover for her ipad (9 1/2 inches long, by 7 1/2 inches wide, exactly)

HUGE WISH FOR BOTH DDs: We've decided to have a Minecraft themed birthday for both girls and could really use birthday supplies.  Some examples are:  themed birthday cards (DD is turning age 10 and other DD is turning age 12), goodie bags, goodies for the bags (I've already received perler bead necklaces from this swap, a 'Happy Birthday' banner, and t-shirts.)[/i]

FOR DH:
-minion (from the movie 'Despicable Me') amigurumi
-any dark blue Volkswagen themed items for his car (He doesn't have the "bug", he has a Passat, but he's very proud of it!   Roll Eyes)
-any bug related items (He's an exterminator.) (Just not spiders or praying mantises, he doesn't like them.)
-some sort of "thingy" for him to put his garbage into for his work truck and one for his car (I would love it if he could get a dark blue one for his car and a bug themed one for his work truck!)

FOR BFF #1:
-cat themed items
-cat toys (no catnip please, I won't be gifting these items to her for a while)
-Disney princess themed items
-pillowcases (her favorite color is purple)

FOR BFF #2:
-anything related to Beeker (from the Muppets)
-pillowcases (her favorite color is-believe it or not-is traffic light green/lime green   Roll Eyes)

FOR GRANDMA YOLANDA:
-anything Dominican Republic themed
-angel themed items

FOR FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS, MY CHILDREN'S TEACHERS, ETC...:(I could use multiples of these items, please...not necessarily all made in one claim!   Wink)
-chapstick cozies
-homemade soaps
-bookmarks
-keyring macaroon purses (those little round ones)
-bath fizzies/bath bombs
-anything that is similar that would be good to give to a group of people, as listed above (Please PM me first with your idea.)

*I cannot take or post photos of the items I make or receive.  It would be GREATLY appreciated if whoever claims me could post photos.  Thank you so much!*

I claim coulseln for a bath apron from one of her pinterest boards!

My pinterest if here : http://www.pinterest.com/mmandjsmom. I have a pinboard or 3 with gift ideas in my account. Just about anything will fit someone I know & love. I truly love giving small gifts to friends and co-workers so a beaded bracelet or whatever you love making will find a nice home for someone who might be having a hard week or a special day.

My name is Brandy. I am from Minnesota & a mom to 3 quickly growing kids. My 13 yo son will be 14 in March & my 11 yo daughter will be 12 in March. I also have a 10 year old son & a wonderful husband.

My 13/14 son plays ice hockey, loves Call of Duty on his PS3, hopes to join the military (probably Army).

My 11/12 y.o. daughter is not very girlie at all. She also plays ice hockey & is the most aggressive on her team, but the tiniest. She also loves music & movies. She is growing up too fast sometimes, hates pink & girlie stuff.

My 10 y.o. son also plays ice hockey. He's a goalie. He's your basic boy.

I could use some fun stuff to add to Easter baskets for these 3 also. Not sure what, but I'll try to add a few things to by Pinterest board. Our high school & hockey team colors are royal blue, black & white, so just about anything in those colors are fun for the kids (and my husband).

My husband also has a birthday in March, but doesn't have time for many hobbies since he helps coach our kids' teams. He loves food & any down time he can find. He also loves beer from small breweries, so something made out of local breweries beer bottles or dealing with beer would be loved.

My new year's resolution is to not buy any more fabric until I have used up LOTS of what I have. I am running out of solids, so some of those would be nice. I am also resolved to making 12 baby quilts for the local hospital out of my fabric.

I'll try to add more as I can.

I claim brandyk for some quilted coasters.

1/0/0

Hi! Im Jen. Im 32 and live in the SF Bay Area in California. Im a stay at home mom to a very energetic 2 -year-old son and a newborn baby girl. We have a huge red Doberman and three cats (who hide from the dog). I am a homebody and enjoy crafting, reading, cooking, baking, and watching more TV and movies than I should. My husband and I are currently trying to get caught up on Dr. Who. I have crafting ADD, so I can do a lot of things but havent mastered most of them - yet. Many of the items on my list are for other people. I love the idea of giving handmade gifts, but its so hard to make it all myself!

Son - Turning 3 in May:
Loves cars, trains, planes, robots, rockets, space - no color preferences
-- "I Spy" Bag(s)
-- Castle Building Block Stamps
-- Hooded Beach Towel Backpack
-- Buckle Toy (boyish or gender neutral colors)
-- Dinosaur amigurumi no buttons please
-- Dragon amigurumi no buttons please
-- Fabric alphabet letters
-- Fabric growth chart - Growth charts I like - here and here (without the pompoms on the bottom)

Daughter Just born in Jan 2014:
I don't mind pink and girly, but things don't have to be either.
-- Crocheted Cupcake Hat
-- Crocheted Amish Puzzle Ball
-- Ring Sling (with proper rings - not ones from the craft store) - If made in a print, I prefer something more modern. A solid color is okay too. I'd like something in black, gray, white, teal/turquoise or a combo of those for this.
-- Fabric growth chart - Growth charts I like - here and here (without the pompoms on the bottom)

Other People:
-- Braided Fabric Scarf (I could use a few of these)
-- Picture Frame Ring Holder (I could use a few of these)
-- Pom Pom Bookmarks - I could use a bunch of these in various colors.
-- Yarn bowl any medium. I like these: One and Two
-- Thread & Bobbin Holder/Display I would love for it to include a place for bobbins in the matching threads
-- Pattern weights

Extras:
-- Im collecting fabrics that can be used for I-Spy quilts for my kids and for baby gifts for friends and family. Both boy and girl images are appreciated. Duplicates are also okay since I plan to make many of these quilts. I need them to be at least 4x4. Here is an example of what Id be making.
