For my son I cutted out from a craft foam sheet this stamp with a dinosaur footprint and I glued it on a bottle cap.

My 8 years old son Milo wanted to write a greeting card in dinosaur footprint alphabet from the book "Dinotopia" by James Gurney, for his best friend Davide.

He created a greeting message and translated in "dinotopian", their new coded language.

Then he printed it with green ink on kraft paper as the track had been made by Dazzle the Dinosaur (from the book by Marcus Pfister) walking on the seashore,

He drew Dazzle with colored pencils and a little bit of sparkling collage.

The complete project on my (italian) blog:

That's neat, and I never knew that there was an alphabet set up using nothing but dinosaur footprints.  Most art books I see recommend making stampers by carving the shape into potato halves, but your foam on a bottlecap method seems superior, and a lot easier, to me.

Thank you,
I think it's a very easy technique.

During the years I tried some variants.
Here are some posts in italian, but with big big images  Wink

I usually use these stamps with washable markerGrin
