it's 28 squares per inch using a single thread.

*mind boggles*   Shocked

I agree! Holy cow! I have a hard enough time doing cross stitch on 14 count Aida. That is going to be one epic piece of cross stitching when you are finished!

that's what my last two projects were too (Batman and Lord Canti).  I actually wanted to do it on 32 count, but that stuff is expensive!!!  Angry

I've been wanting to do a project like this because the ones I see are always so cool and look almost like an actual picture.  so, here I am, trying to do this project.  Undecided

Battle/Challenge:  May Mob - Mother's Day
Team: Wordy
Bonus Points: ---
Project Name: Mother's Day Purse
Project Page Link (if available): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433429.0#axzz31Rb6JQEH
Brief Description: I have been sewing for a while and just recently my Mom asked me for a purse. I feel like a threshold has been crossed. LOL! She really liked the octopus bag I made until she noticed the octopus.  Tongue  So we went to the fabric store and she picked out some pretty batik fabric so I could make her one. This was her Mother's Day present. I told her I wouldn't have it done in time and surprised her today.

Smeddley, I love that hoop! I thought it was an applique at first, and then I realized that it was individual stitches. I'm impressed!

gozer, another great bag! And, it's funny that your mom didn't like the octopus pattern on the bag, because I didn't notice it when I first saw the bag. I've learned that if I am going to make something for my mom that she needs to ask for it AND pick out the materials. Otherwise, it's time and money wasted... Hopefully, you can find a happy recipient for the octopus bag!

The octopus bag went to Luckdragon. She had the fabric pinned to her board so I hope she really liked it. My mom asked for one like it and I said, "the octopus?". She didn't notice them either.  Wink

Glad the bag went to a good home! And, even though I didn't see the octopus initially, I fell in love with the fabric once I did Smiley  I like how it is a bit subtle on the bag. Smiley

Ludi I absolutely love that shrine of yours. My favorite thing you have ever made and that is saying a lot since I adored that fish balloon with bunnies embroidery!
Smeddley - that is a beautiful hoop and I am sure your Mother is going to love it. I like the way the little lines seem to have a motion to them.

Ludi - Your shrine is so awesome!  And tiny!  All of the elements are so beautiful and realistic.

Smeddley - That's such a pretty hoop!

gozer - Another lovely bag!  How fun to go fabric shopping with your mom and let her pick out her favorites.  And a sneaky fun surprise to have it finished!  Cheesy
