Thank you and you're welcome  Smiley

Wow, that's an amazing contraption to make in three hours!   Shocked

The apples are beads reshaped with matte medium and painted, with thread stems.  Smiley
Thanks for the info! I was so curious!

It was about three hours. Definitely on the >3 side but I don't think I hit the 4 hour mark. I did spend quite a while hunting down clothespins which, hopefully, you won't have to do if you make one  Grin

Okay, those apples are amazing, and I might need to add that folding needle box to my list of things to try...  I have a few more projects to squeak in under the April wire...

Battle/Challenge:  April Battle:  Comic Books vs. Regular Books
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: none
Project Name: Bookmarks
Brief Description:  I made some bookmarks out of a drawing I did!  They're laminated with a little yarn tassel - just a little something to keep your place!
Project Picture:

Battle/Challenge:  April - Honey, you should see me in a crown
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: none
Project Name: Tiara
Brief Description: So it's a very literal interpretation of the prompt... I started making tiaras for my bellydancer friends on their birthdays, and darn it all if I just don't keep finding more friends and more birthdays...
Project Picture:

Battle/Challenge:  April -  Now were cooking
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: none
Project Name:  Chicken and Rice
Brief Description:  I cook a lot, especially cookies and cakes and all sorts of weird things, so to come up with something I thought was worthy of the prompt was... tough.  So I boiled a whole chicken, then pulled the meat off it and threw it into a food processer until it was the consistency of paste, then mixed it with rice.  No seasoning.
Project Picture:

Looks appetizing, doesn't it?  Okay, well, it would if you were her:

Because she's old (15) and has been having some issues with seizures/appetite, the vet suggested a nice bland diet of chicken and rice.  So I'm now cooking dog food.  We're eating frozen pizza and burritos, because I'm too tired after wrestling with the dog food, but she's happy as could be!

A few more things will have to wait until they arrive at their swap destinations, but at least I got the April time sensitive one done.  Go regular books!  Cheesy

Cheesy  Aww, what a cute pooch!  Hey, I bet you could put that chicken and rice in a tortilla with a little salsa and cheese and it would be delicious! Or add some broccoli and cheese and you've got yourself a casserole.  Can you tell I solve all food problems with cheese? Smiley

Cheese pretty much solves everything!  The biggest problem with this is the consistency of the chicken.... it is really weird (it's not even like the canned chicken, seriously it turns to... paste).  But I think some chunky salsa and a bunch of cheese would hide that!  Cheesy

Personally, I'd pick a nice Colby Jack, or even a Jalapeno Jack, but...  Cheesy

I'm looking forward to joining this battle! I have technically been a member since 2009 but I have never posted until today. I have several projects going that fit this theme that I will post as soon as I am allowed to post pictures!

I'm sad I didn't find this board sooner, but I'll make an effort to make up for lost time!

Thanks for having me!

Battle/Challenge:  April Battle - Regular Books!
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Bye Bye Card Catalog
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: These two pieces were created from discarded card catalog cards. As an homage to the book I created a small stab-bound blank notebook and an ATC that is cross-stitched in red, a bit of a sad goodbye.

Battle/Challenge: April flash mob - humorous
Team: Textbook
Bonus Points: 0
Project Name: Monster ATC
Project Page Link (if available): N/A
Brief Description: I made this for the ongoing ATC swap, for cmarion3 (don't peek!) It's not been sent yet but I wanted to get it in before the deadline, today! My honey laughed out loud when he saw this, so it fits here perfectly. Grin
