I made this for luckdragon in the OWS 101 swap. It's a knockoff Anthropologie necklace and I used this tutorial for the inspiration. It is one of those deceptively simple things that wound up being really hard to replicate due to trying to find the exact right match color beads and such.

Mine:

Inspiration:

I used 12g non-tarnish brass wire that I hand hammered. Then I had to buy this tool that let me screw a hole in the hammered wire. (Turned out that was one of the hardest parts of construction because the more you hammer wire, the harder it gets and the more difficult to punch a hole in!) I scrounged the web to find appropriately colored beads and wound up lucking out on a mixed lot of fire polished Czech glass beads that, combined with a few random beads I had in my stash, allowed me to get the appropriate range of colors. (It's a lot of specific and odd colors!!) It's 26g gold plated wire used in the wrapping of the beads themselves. I finished it off with a 14k gold plated chain and clasp.

I was quite proud of how it came out! Grin

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.
