I drew these two pet portraits for Sharalee, in the Huge, Giant, Enormous swap.  One is her late, beloved greyhound, and the other 2 are of her beloved Italian greyhounds.  I sketched them out w/a pencil 1st, then colored them in w/oil pastels.  Then, blended in the oil pastels.

I have already told you this, but I love these!

They have such a folk art quality...and the eyes are so soulful...you have captured a lot of expression as well...

Holy cow slobber!!!!!!!  Thank you so much!!!!!!!!  I was looking at another featured project, when I noticed the eyes of my greyhound portrait.  Took my breath away to see they were a featured project!!!!

I love that you used oil pastels because it really softens the whole portrait and says something about how much these people care for their dogs. Excellent medium choice and job well done!
