I knew when I saw this tote on the cover of Crochet Today!, Feb/Mar 2014 issue that I had to make it!

side so you can see small, side motifs

Pattern Used: Cargo Tote by Kristin Omdahl
Yarn Used: Red Heart Boutique Eclipse, Colorway Sunset (about 2.5 skeins)
Hook Used: H hook

It was a fun pattern with interesting construction.  It also ends up being a nice size tote; in the pic I have 2 one-pound skeins tucked inside.  And I have to say I adored this yarn; sadly it is being discontinued.

The color of the yarn you used is so perfect in showing off the pattern. Looks so great!

My first question was what yarn you used, or if you kept switching colors..now I know! Your bag turned out gorgeous! I don't know when you find time to make everything that you make. It amazes me. Smiley

this is really pretty. Don't you hate it when you find something you love just to find out it's not going to be made anymore? At least you finished the tote before you couldn't find it anymore, right? Stock up now!

it's stunning !! And it looks much nicer with the yarn/colors you chose than the original from the magazine.

How does yours behave when you held, does it stretch as much as the one in the magazine ?

Congrats !

Why thank you! Grin I love this colorway more too (it is the same type, weight, and structure of the RH Midnight...just no sparklies).  Now mine did not end up as big and doesn't stretch out as much as the mag one (still has some stretching ability with the netting, holds a lot).  I must admit that I didn't check the gauge; I'm sure if I did it would have been bigger.  Nevertheless, I'm happy with the end product. Cool
