Hi everyone, hope all is well. I've been sick for about 6 months now & quite honestly have not been able to bring myself to paint or draw anything, perhaps also partially because I'm in a quarter life crisis after graduating college, because school was my LIFE & I loved it. It's been tough. Anyway, a while back I made some cut out cards:

..so I thought I'd give some more a try. Lately I've been really into looking at different ball-jointed dolls & I think they're really cool, so they inspired me to make a few cards. Two of them have cutouts like the ones I've made before, & for the other two I filled the frame with hair... just because I love hair in the least creepy way possible, lol. I think you can probably tell when you look at some of my other work as well.

Anyway, these are all inktense pencils on acrylic paper. I like the inktense because they're easy to use & i'm just not up for getting all of my paints out & setting everything up... this way I can still achieve the look I like.

"Brown eyed girl"

"Sea Foam"

They're actually in the reverse order of the order I did them in, so the bottom one was first & the top was last. I'm planning on buying some more inktense pencils because I only have 12 right now so I'm a little limited. Hope you enjoy!

I absolutely love these! The brown eyed girl is my fave. Had to pin!
Hope you feel better soon too. You'll find something to fill the void of school.

Gorgeous! I like the limited palette a lot, it connects the cards wonderfully Smiley

These are absolutely gorgeous!  I'm in awe of your talent.

Glad you're getting back into creating.  It always makes me feel better when I'm down.

Your cut-out cards are beautiful!
(And so are the other ones.)
You are very talented.
Sorry to hear you have been ill for so long. I hope you feel better now.

Wow. Those are really neat! I love the "cut out" effect on them. I don't know anything about the pencils that you mention, but you do a fine job with them. The shading and colors are wonderful. I hope you do get the chance to add more colors, but it seems you are doing fine with what you have right now. Very pretty. Brown Eyed Girl is my fave. I love the flames in the hair, but I also like the braids on the blue doll. And your eyes are very well designed. And the lips on Sea Foam are really interesting, too.

I envy you. I am not good at portraits. Even the cartoony kind. You are definately very talented with this style of art. Ummmm. Ever think of illustrating for books?  Grin They would gobble you up, for sure! Writer's Market is a publication with references to where to send your queries for work. You should be published! Lulu.com also has an avenue where you can control your own destiny for very little cost. And no inventory there. I encourage you to give it a go. The whole world should see your talent. Not just us  Grin

Though all are great, my favorites are the cut-out cards.

you are so very talented, I LOVE them... I long for inktense pencils, they are on the wishlist along with a set of neocolor II's.
