Looking for a way to get rid of some small balls of yarn you have lingering?  I was going through my yarn bin and realized that I had almost two full grocery bags of just scrap yarn balls.  I decided to make a hat.  It doesn't take much yarn for each "rib" and will chew through a bit of your stash.  I just grabbed one color after another, but I'm sure you could make a very nice color coordinated hat, too.

Pattern can be found here:

I just changed color after I completed a 45 and a 40 count row of the same color.  With the pattern, the great thing is that all of the strings from changing colors are at the top, so they're easy to tie off and weave in without them showing.

I really like that hat. It would go with anything! LOL! Also, I think it's awesome that it was all out of scraps. Way to go on de-stashing!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PATTERN!  I just printed it out.  It looks easy enough, and I HATE wasting yarn, so I have like two bags full of yarn that are not really big enough, except for something like this.

Thanks for sharing the pattern!  I also have a few bins full of little bits of yarn!  This is the perfect use since I think it can be for men and women, adults and children!

You're welcome!  I'm glad I came across the pattern because it's quite simple and you don't really have to pay attention while you're working with it.
