Hey guys!

I'm a make up artist, but am re-creating the character Malificent from Sleeping Beauty.
I am looking to make horns from Polymer Clay, but I want to know the best way to do this. I want them pretty big. Is there a brand you recommend?

Also, how should I attach the horns onto the model? Put the horns through a cord/wire?

I have to do this soon, and I have never used Polymer before.

Thanks!!

To reduce the weight of the horns, I would create an armature that you can sculpt on or eventually remove from the horns after the clay has been baked.  Because of the size and weight of the piece, Sculpty ultra light and painted afterwards might be a good place to start; I think it feels like marshmallow fluff when you play with it but it can become sticky if it gets too warm.  Another option is to use fabric and liquid sculpty.  That might give rigidity and stability to fabric horns vs just fabric itself.

Attaching the horns can be tricky.  Cord/wire might be sufficient but the larger they get, the harder it is for them to stay on.  you may have to create a headpiece/helmet structure for them to be really stable.

Sorry if this doesn't help.... just thinking out loud.   Good luck with it and can't wait to see end pictures!
